Telugu Sangam Austria was established to provide a platform for all Telugu speaking people living in Austria. The organization will strive to promote our culture and our mother tongue.

"Culture" (encompassing traditions, customs, rituals, practices, arts etc) and "mother tongue" are two fundamental aspects of a person's or a community's identity. It provides a sense of connection and holds people and societies together. Traditions and rituals came into existence to help maintain community cohesion and tolerance. It took shape over many generations and were passed on to us by our ansestors to follow them and pass on to our next generation. It is a repository of community's knowledge and wisdom that helps maintain peace within one’s self, family, and society, thereby maintaining the overall well-being of the civilization. It is upon our shoulders to preserve this heritage and ensure that these traditions and practices are not lost.

About the greatness of the Telugu language, many people have praised and said many things about it:

"దేశ భాషలందు తెలుగు లెస్స" , (of all languages in the country Telugu is superior), said Sri Vinukonda Vallabha Rayudu, but later became very popular when the emperor Sri Krishna Devaraya said it.

"ఇటాలియన్ ఆఫ్ ది ఈస్ట్" (Italian of the East) said the Westerners because only Italian language bears some of the features that Telugu posess.

"తేట తెలుగు" (Pure Telugu) said the Kannadigas and

"సుందర భాష" (Beautiful language) said the Tamilians.

Telugu Sangam Austria will promote our culture by celebrating our festivals together and strives to teach our mother tongue to the next generation.
