Ordinary Membership

Overview

Ordinary members are those who primarily wish to attend the events organized by Telugu Sangam. They may not be actively involved in the organization’s internal affairs. However, they are entitled to make suggestions, vote on all issues related to events, and contest for positions in the Executive Committee.

Requirements for Membership

  • Ordinary membership in Telugu Sangam Austria is open to anyone of Telugu origin, either by birth or by family tradition, who is living in Austria. Interested non-Telugu-speaking individuals are also welcome to become ordinary members of the organization.
  • The minimum age to become an ordinary member is 18 years.
  • All membership applications are subject to approval by the Executive Committee (EC).
  • Generally, no application for ordinary membership from a Telugu-speaking person living in Austria will be rejected.
  • If the EC rejects an application, the applicant may appeal to the Governing Body, which will make a decision by a simple majority vote. Such a decision shall be final.

Rights of Ordinary Members

  • Every ordinary member has the right to receive a copy of the Statutes of the organization.
  • Ordinary members are entitled to participate in all events of the organization and to use its facilities and assets, subject to payment of applicable fees.
  • Ordinary members have the right to participate in the General Assembly.
  • Ordinary members who hold a valid right of residence in Austria are eligible to serve on the Executive Committee (EC).
  • Ordinary members have the right to vote in the election of the Executive Committee (EC) and on matters related to events.
  • Ordinary members are entitled to propose new ideas and seek the opinions of other members on any issue related to the organization’s events.
